Prescott Valley vacation rental license
Prescott Valley requires no license for a residential rental unless it is a short-term vacation rental, in which case a town business license is required. The requirements come from Ordinance 849, adopted as zoning ordinance amendment ZOA18-001, which set the vacation rental business license requirements for the town. Applications are handled by the Office of the Town Clerk rather than by planning. The application packet is available as a PDF from the clerk's office or from the town website. The completed packet, including the applicable occupancy permit form and eligibility form, is returned to the clerk with the correct fees. Arizona law caps any city permit fee at the actual cost of issuing it or $250, whichever is less. It also closes the list of what a city may ask for, which makes the license an administrative filing rather than a discretionary approval. The town cannot refuse it on the ground that the use is a short-term rental.[4]
